Farmers Market Associate

Hours: Saturdays 6:30 AM – 3 PM
Pay: $155/day + $20 in trade
About the Role
We are looking for friendly, people oriented individuals to represent Under the Pines at our local farmers markets. We have three market associate opportunities, PSU Farmers Market, Beaverton Farmers Market and Lake Oswego Farmers Market. You will set up the booth, sample our gluten free breads, chat about our products and connect with the community about the benefits of our naturally nourishing and delicious gluten free goods.
What we are looking for
Social and engaging: Outgoing and able to easily strike up a conversation.
Passionate about food: You believe in food as medicine and understand, or are willing to learn about a variety of diverse dietary needs and preferences.
Reliable: You are punctual and ready to work early mornings.
Key Responsibilities
Market operations: Transport gear, set up the tent/table and break down the booth efficiently.
Sales and sampling: Offer samples, explain the product and process transactions.
Brand ambassadorship: Understand questions about the products, where gluten free grains are sourced, health benefits of different grains and help answer questions related to product ingredients and storage.
Feedback: Provide customer feedback and comments.
Requirements
Must be able to lift 40+ lbs (full coolers, tent, tent weights, display case).
Must have reliable transportation to move gear/product. Market set up and product are extensive, transportation with room to move equipment is a must. Ideally an SUV, hatchback or truck.
Previous customer service or farmers market experience is a plus, but we care most about your passion for bringing healthy and inclusive food options to the community.
